Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2010 Campaign

We’re loving the new ads for Louis Vuitton’s fall collection. The ads feature models Christy Turlington, Karen Elson and Natalia Vodianova representing women of different ages and sizes. Love the bags, love the clothes, love the setting!

Beautiful Inspiration: Eclectic Necklace

We’ve been so busy working on our Fall Collection we’ve neglected our blog! The collection isn’t quite ready yet, but saw this on Sea of Shoes and wanted to share some of our inspiration with you. Love the mixing of different materials and random findings.

When Two Are Better Than One

If we were to produce rings, the double ring would surely have a spot in our collection. We love it’s inherently playful form and its ability to deliver twice the impact of the traditional one-finger archetype. The over-the-top versions, such as the Brooklyn Bridge ring pictured below, are obvious statement pieces and light-hearted takes on the brass knuckle-buster. But since we’re not wearing them for self-defense purposes, and because our aesthetic favours a more refined look, we’re definitely leaning toward the more delicate, single-bar examples. The “Lauren” version below (via Lauren Conrad) is another fun and creative way to pick up on the double ring trend!

Put Your Old Headbands Aside….

The popular accessory company ban.do recently launched The Black Label Collection which they tout as their ‘couture collection’ – truly an over-the-top ensemble of their most ornate and elegant headdresses yet. We think that each beautifully crafted piece makes the average headband look unattractively diminutive in comparison. If only we could find weekly occasion to wear such gorgeous show-stopping pieces…but we suppose the average Tuesday would look much brighter if every lady opted for a headdress instead of her usual ponytail.

If you haven’t seen it yet!

We can’t wait!

In Honor of Alexander McQueen

We just came across the Fall 2008 Ready-to-Wear Collection by the late Alexander McQueen. We were so drawn to the decorative hair jewelry, which is usually worn by Indian women during wedding ceremonies.
These, like most of his designs are exquisite pieces of art. Alexander McQueen was an incredible designer, famous for is originality and experimental design, and he will be sadly missed.

Thierry Le Goues “Amazones”

Just came across these spectacular photographs on Kanye West’s blog. Thierry LeGoues who’s worked for Vogue, Glamour, ID, The Face … is the incredible French photographer behind “Amazones.” The dresses and accessories are by Paco Rabanne. From a jewelry designers perspective, we thought it was interesting that they use a metal fabric called squam to create these extraordinary pieces of art. Paco Rabanne has used it since 1969 and has now created a thinner version of it called metal jersey. Something we’d like to explore with.

The contrast between the smooth, sensual skin and the shiny, hard metals sort of takes your breath away.
